can't send mail from Mac Mail ...sometimes


my mom having intermittent problem sending mail mac mail (incoming mail fine). work while, stop working, error:

cannot send message using server smtp. verify have addressed message correctly. check smtp server settings in mail preferences, , verify advanced settings system administrator.
smtp auth required message submission on port 587
select different outgoing mail server list below or click try later leave message in outbox until can sent.

found information on greennet known issue mac mail on yosemite, log machine remotely , reset email password, etc.

have seen this? there permanent solution?
 

you try updating el cap. fixed email woes both gmail , custom imap server.
