Experience with iPhone 6S abroad


hey guys! there’s been lot of discussion unlock status of iphones , compatibility lte bands around world. maybe interesting some.

have preordered full price t-mobile version apple, indeed 100% unlocked, able activate sim. in china , using china unicom sim.

second point – lte. on face of iphone 6s should 100% compatible chinese lte out of box. 4g in china premium product, , needs activated feature, though can select “4g” in settings -–> cellular straight away.
example, when bought sim @ shanghai airport, told it’s 3g/4g, not 4g working. when switching 3g 4g in settings, short while signal disappeared (it showed carrier logo 1/5, 0/5 signal strength circles , no pictogram data ) , jumped 3g. started freaking out, thinking phone faulty. after night of browsing china unicom website (using bing translate, don’t know chinese!), able activate i’m not kicked off 4g network more. far field test shows i’m on band 3, way.
