Finder Goes to top of folder every time


so if i'm in finder, , go subdirectory of folder, go back, brings me top of folder every time, making super difficult work directory lots of files. else experiencing this? there way fix this?
 

a work around use "enclosing folder" command instead of back. command-up arrow key equivalent.
