Improving Performance


greetings all.

have been apple user number of years, took short break , had windows based machine time , when came os x on new imac had catching do. imac late 2013 model, 8gb of ram, intel iris graphics, , 2.7 ghz i5 processor.

machine runs great, opening applications bit buggy. find imovie bad , runs sort of sluggish, though isn't processing or organizing files.

there additional can improve speed of imac? processes close or things clear out? don't download questionable, strictly use itunes , app store, , on occasion battle.net , adobe creative cloud of media , entertainment needs.

add have current available stable release of os x el capitan, sure miss os x mavericks. wish go that, oh suppose!

sort of tips or advice appreciated.
 

do have hdd, fusion drive or ssd in machine?
