i updated osx el capitan, , hp cm1312nfi multi-function color laser printer (which had barely-there support hp on last osx version) doesn't want scan. last official version of osx drivers claim support 10.9. meanwhile, black toner cartridge , 2 of 3 color toners have run dry again, , swear thing goes through them way fast.
suspect scanning issue might resolved somehow, or can 3rd party software handle that. i'm debating whether buy set of toner cartridges (about $200) or if should maybe upgrade printer altogether better support latest osx versions , wireless support ios devices (though i'm not sure how i'd need that).
other considerations: printer multi-function printer supports scanning, copying, , faxing, don't use faxing , i'm hoping ditch landline soon, anyway, between emailing pdfs alternative faxing, or using other online faxing service, think can live without that. copying nice have, not often. scanning multi-page documents done every often, infrequent enough of need scansnap bought last year.
part of me considering buying new color laser printer *isn't* multi-function printer. if did buy new, think main priorities cost of supplies , print/color quality.
