Do you guys encrypt you external hard drives?


i filevaulted mbp, , runs great.

encrypting time machine backup's on external hard drive, , notice tm backup's taking considerably longer; normal?

spends long time on preparing backup"

i think many people have encrypted tm backups, though haven't (i should). think take longer needs encrypt data getting backed up. backup procedure no longer straight copy computer external drive needs encrypt each file (afaik)
