PNY USB 256gb slow transfers then dead


so should have picked on being slow load , respond when writing or deleting files last week. morning died/unmounted in middle of transfer , gives error message being uninitialized. drive dead right? fortunately, drive contained backed media files anyway.

time me stop buying bestbuy/amazon bf type deal drives , invest in more dependable? transcend , pny...are patriot sandisk better on long term?
 

sounds might have been 1 of "fake" 256 gb drives that's more 8 gb that's been jimmied appear bigger.
