Resolved Can I do a differential restore from Time Machine?

i've got user has file structure lists numerous companies, each company has it's own folder , inside each folder there file called "notes.docx". means each company has generic file called notes:

companies folder
company 1 folder
notes.docx
company 2 folder
notes.docx
company 3 folder
notes.docx

i've made him aware bad idea makes identifying specific notes files difficult, that's not problem.

problem has hundreds of company folders, , appears numerous notes files randomly missing. don't understand cause of them deleted not of them, that's stand. further complicate issue hasn't had time machine backup done since 3 months ago, rolling mbp not option. he's doing finds company that's missing notes file logs time machine , single file restore.

way he's doing not efficient , take significant amount of time. i'm looking option differential compare on company folders , missing notes file, pull previous version down time capsule. possible? i'm open other suggestions, all!

afaik he's doing way.

far file structure, keep pestering him, that's not way go it.
