iPad Pro 2, Oct 2016, Thoughts?

the ipad pro first generation product evolved 6th or generation hardware. no matter how people want isn't 1st generation product, unfortunately first time apple has created laptop-size tablet meant creative professionals. first generation.

people figure out can , cannot do. apps can do. , features needs.

following regular 11-12 month release interval of oct/nov each year, see ipad pro 2 in oct 2016.

can guarantee inevitably run os x someday. maybe not in 2nd generation, no later 3rd, if apple wants remain relevant. writing has been on wall long time. os x , ios use same mach unix kernel, same kernel extension architecture , filesystem, run different userland graphical interfaces. apple has done best make os x touch-ready, introducing launchpad, icloud, notification center, fullscreen, split fullscreen (capitan), , universal binaries. , large-enough tablet screens fit whole os plus external ipad pro keyboard prepare controlling os x. future universal binary not powerpc+intel. arm+intel.

question not if. it's when. ipad pro's use of ios makes comically oversized toy. ipod touch put through magnifying glass. it's begging more advanced os.

think ipad pro 2 still going bit apple dare bring os x tablet world , catch microsoft's multi-year lead. doubt take brilliant engineers anymore 2 years (ipad pro 3, 2017). os x running on arm in internal builds, sure. else braindead. , apple aren't braindead.

if aren't going bring os x ipad pro 2, think *will* change after year of professional use?

predictions:
-64gb flash base model, since flash gets cheaper , larger time, , 256 or 512gb top model.
-higher resolution screen. dubious may try reach 4k dumb-consumer reason. if need in 13 inch tablet.
-next generation arm 30-50% higher cpu performance , 2-3x higher gpu performance, better handle pixels on huge display. vital when app makers realize how juice takes render of ipad pro's pixels.
-twice ram since more , more desktop class apps demand it. ipp's 4gb pathetically ios-centric , ensure pro 1 cannot grandfathered in os x support (this reveals planned obsolescence of ipad "pro" 1). surface pro has 16gb ram.
-fixes inevitable hardware , manufacturing flaws discovered in 1 month old product. putting hands of millions of people reveals things not found internally.

salute bought first generation before apple has seen people need product. considered doing myself, since use ipads control music mixers i'll wait until pro 2, have juice grandfathered in when os x installable on ipad pro 3. if not, can sell 2 , buy 3.
