Transfer individual apps on new MBP from Time Machine?

i bought new (still in box) mid-2014 macbook pro retina. have current computer backed through time machine. pick , choose apps , folders bring on old computer.

example, want bring on google chrome, apple email , adobe lightroom (with now) not older adobe apps , other random apps downloaded 1 reason or another.

what's best way this?

current mbp running 10.10.3 yosemite , new 1 (presumably) running 10.9 mavericks. haven't turned on new mbp yet.

i'm decent getting technical side of things let's assume know nothing when respond.

thanks!

when start new mac take through set menu. you'll login wifi , icloud , ask if use want transfer data machine (after inviting update el capitan likely). should able connect time machine drive , either select whole backup restore or select folders. unfortunately may let specific "applications" , "documents". either can delete unwanted apps , files once they've been moved on or may have temporarily move them hard drive , create backup without them. don't recommend setting mac new , dragging , dropping files time machine. apps can't moved way since tend store needed files , information in multiple places. know personal experience doesn't work ms office.
