Carrier Brand New Sprint iPhone already Activated

i purchased new iphone5 off of ebay. photo shows running ios6.1.3 , although sprint iphone, price excellent.
arrived, open box seller stated, plastic still attached, front , back. other being removed box, iphone brand new.

went ahead , register apple, without issue. plugged itunes , set new iphone.
signed on icloud id , set take in after holidays sprint , cheap line of service installed.

surprisingly, noticed lte in upper left on home screen , sure enough, iphone completed activated already. can send , receive imessages , phone calls. internet works flawlessly, should activated line.

did little research , see line corporately activated in may of 2013 , probably, never used. in checking emei comes 'activated' without issue.

so, here concern. appears iphone has never been registered before me , never used. why corporate (based out of new york city) continue pay bill perplexing me.

i'm tempted take sprint afraid somehow jack happening.
question: if iphone used , bill not paid- there warning sent via text message first before service cut off?
also, if iphone registered me can entity blacklist line?
can protect myself having iphone becoming useless?

have no problem paying line, don't want trigger getting locked before figuring out how go that.

the chances phone has been long since paid off pretty good, if corporate people kept paying bill.

ended employee's phone never used (but activated).

here's advice. go sprint store , ask new iphone 5 sim card. here part number in case give hassle: simglw406r.

start service (they put imei on account) , swap sims. sprint's site has tool put in sim card serial number imei of phone. or can call , ask simple esn swap.

should good. if imei blacklisted you'd know point. it's been on 3 years. not have been able did if blacklisted.

must have correct sim however. part number sim 4s , 5 different part number 5c , above. not interchangeable.

luck!
