3D touch is time-based after all

to people saying 3d touch not time-based wrong. try force touching icon releasing finger. sure enough, doesn't register "force touch" unless keep finger fraction of second on icon, meaning implementation indeed time-based.

brings question why did apple add 3d touch after all, when same thing have been implemented in software timing without adding complicated force touch sensors.
3d touch seems hyped , useless gimmick have ever used.

force (or pressure) not same duration. ui can have overlap produce same results, consider other examples. music app can produce louder volume harder press. drawing app can produce thicker or darker lines harder press.
