"not a valid volume mount point" Can't make bootable drive

i have downloaded el capitan , have formatted 8gb usb drive , have partitioned , have typed command in terminal , every single time error message "untitled not valid volume mount point". drive titled untitled isn't problem syntax knowledge. give up. have tried copying , pasting others command lines terminal hoping perhaps may have in fact messed syntax , didn't catch it. trying though still same old response.

can , doing wrong?

guys. i'm @ mercy.

what command?
drive named untitled or untitled? path names case sensitive.
drive needs partitioned using guid, may not be.
