Advice From Graphic/Web Designers?


hello!

i'm self-learning worlds of graphic , web design hopes of becoming freelancer.

own 2010 white macbook has stood test of time occasional upgrade ( dual hard drives & ram). it's more sufficient online classrooms realize need move on more advanced programs , therefore more powerful machine.

i've been reviewing options , seems mbp best road take. have questions cannot answer myself;

1.) bump retina necessary if purchase spec'd out 2012 pro? i've been told retina particularly helpful graphic design , realize last non retina pro built aging.

2.) feel 16gb of ram necessary or 8gb suffice?

friend in same field swears spec'd out 15" retina of bells , whistles spent on $2k , i'm not convinced entirely necessary.

i wouldn't consider going non-retina if focusing on graphic design, away if coding web design. graphic design how looks, should pay screen.

in terms of 13" vs 15", big difference quad core, wanting. base level 15" integrated graphics , 16gig of ram suit well. if working heavily in 3d or video editing consider specing out not needed.

better 16gig of ram adobe products make use of
