Liquid spilled on 2011 MacBook Pro 17-inch

i have been holding dearly 2011 macbook pro 17", knowing apple not make one.

on month ago, drunk s.o. spilled water on it.

have disassembled laptop routinely cleaning , applying new thermal paste, have toolkit on hand.

minute after spill, had cover opened , cut power logic board.

in 40 minutes, had laptop disassembled down keyboard.

wiped logic board clean cloth , clean 91% rubbing alcohol.

use hair dryer blow on keyboard backside.

after couple of days drying, reassembled laptop, won't turn on.

took laptop apple store, apple "genius" (and put in quotation reason) told me logic board gone , need pay close $1000 fix it.

took home , remembered power switch connected keyboard, there chance keyboard bad , prevented laptop turning on.

bought , installed replacement keyboard. after pressing power button, charm came on , felt great weight has been lifted off me.

been on month since laptop came life , have been using everyday.

so, should still worry consequence of spill coming haunt me later?

it sounds handled spill in best possible way, there chance of liquid made way under component , corrosion may show later. plain water least cause issues in long run, @ least you've got going you.
