USB is formatted Journaled Encrypted. Do I also need to encrypt Time Machine backups?

wondering if it's necessary check "encrypt backup" option on time machine if using usb drive formatted journaled encrypted.

yep... discovered if format encrypted select tm destination should see encrypted box checked in tm prefs. same end result.
