2006 Mac pro Questions


hi everyone. got sick of windows getting worse , worse , went , bought mac pro. got ebay $400 aus , seems great. fast, nice , quiet. but... have few questions new macs. last mac owned in 1995.

proud owner of mac pro (2006) quad core 2.66ghz xeon 12gb ram 1 tb hd , nvidea geforce 7300 gt graphics. refurbished ex-office machine.

questions.

mac says running on 8gb ram. seems 1 bank not working. looked in machine , pulled slot see 3 banks, fitting well. 1 different other 2 (this 1 not working). working ones "smt 4gb ddr ii pc 5300 667 mhz 4096m-fb667 , p6aalo" bank not working given "smt 4gb ddr ii pc 5300 667mhz ecc 4096m-fb667 , 92025h". i'm wondering if "eec" means different mac know year of manufacture seems watch.

next graphics card. looked online , seems ati radeon hd 5770 may boost graphics bit, though lead believe hd 5870 still ok use. opinion knows macs better please.

congrats. bought 2006 mac pro quad 3.0ghz mid last year $400au gumtree 19gb ram. had scored 30" acd separately month before - sweet. still use stock nvidia card. know memory banks can temperamental (given mac coming decade old think things start fray).

Help please Strange logs
