Finder sidebar with tendency to disappear


first of all, know how enable finder sidebar again, switching on finder preferences.

however, strange reason, i've been experiencing sidebar has tendency disappear on finder windows, on @ least 2 of macs (one running ml, other sl). i'm not sure if mac running el capitan suffers or not.

since has been happening since upgraded 1 mac el capitan, i'm thinking if cause, because sync files directory tree in macs rsync, so... i'm wondering if el capitan changed specification hidden "ds_store" files might causing this?

1 noteworthy case root foolder of usb drive (formatted os x format): 1 day sidebar disappeared on sl mac. enabled again. plugged usb on rest of macs (ml , el capitan). , couple of days later, plug again on sl mac , voila, sidebar disappeared again.

note: i've never seen in macs before, tiger yosemite, , i've been syncing data tree rsync years now.

what's happening here?
 

there used oval in upper right corner toggle on , off. think read invisible. try clicking there , see if happens.
