Safari causing mac to be unresponsive sometimes


anyone? on latest el capitan on 2013 late retina 13inch macbook pro.
 

clear history , website data. i've had in past bloated safari data, , clearing makes things better. , why have history retention set 30 days: enough time keep recent history, , not bloat data website visited once.
