Given that I use Bootcamp, which machine to choose?


hello, since windows work differently, posting here.

have macbook pro 2010 17" me right now. between 2012-2014, used rmbp 15" 2012. in 2014-a week ago, used rmbp 15" 2014. in add 3 machines, used bootcamp , installed windows 7 in bootcamp partitions. used winclone backup windows partition.

waiting up-coming new mac laptop might available in march or may. after upgrading ei capitan, performance of mbp 2010 17" became slow. checked. mail not cause slowdown.

1. since have been using mbp, there issues if restore backuped windows partition (using winclone) on macbook or macbook air?

2. if buy surface pro 4 or macbook, able put backuped windows parition of these machines?

3. if upgrade hd of mbp 2010 17" ssd, think have issues given rmbp 2012 , rmbp 2014 have more advanced hardware. guess might have use windows installed on laptop base , manually copy files windows partition of rmbp 2012 , 2014.

suggestion appreciated. thanks.

1. seize opportunity start fresh windows installation , avoid bringing on drivers , support software older macbook pro new machine.

2. in theory, can clone partition reliability concerns best begin fresh , migrate data back.

3. own both 2008 macbook pro , mid 2012 both equipped maximum ram (for respective models) high quality ssds. 2008 never keep 2012 in terms of computational tasks (e.g. video editing, rendering, etc.), in day day use 2008 feels speedy recent machine exception of physical design. if looking significant speed improvement in day day activity, ssd , ram upgrade money spent. however, if machine if falling short on needs (e.g. video games, video editing, etc.) in best interest replace it.
