iPhone 1970 date glitch


hi guys,

decided try 1970 date thing on phone see how fix myself , behold simple disconnect battery , it'll working fine when reconnect it.

decided in contact apple see reaction , have offered replace phone €291 fee.

cogs turned in head , told me if caused software surely cannot press charge on me?
think i'm @ legal situations , not 100% sure on have feeling being software issue means technically should replace free or less price.

can opinions on this?
