New Business Setup From Scratch

hi all,

i'm long time user of macs new servers , backups on business-scale. have few questions hoping of experts me answer?


our current setup:

small business 8 macs, 1tb hard drives none full. they're connected via lan internet , our apple time capsule using wireless hard drive, 'dropbox' shared files.

have network cabinet has 2 switches house lan cables go our router internet. our router connected our apple time capsule. this:

imac --> via lan --> network switch --> router --> apple time capsule



what want do:

i'd setup server our macs can access. server i'd macs use time machine backup same place on network.

stage 1:

i'd use raid configuration (which have read possible) have 2 copies of ups. way 1 copy can taken home each night , on weekend in case of fire etc.

stage 2:

once setup, i'd able download our websites @ end of everyday. not entire site, files have been added or edited day, once again backed in same way macs.



how it?

that's question! hardware , software need achieve this?

i've been recommended network drive caddy , full hard drives, use os x server working. sounds fine, can give me:

1. shopping list of recommend use
2. point me guide or give me run down of how above setup


spoke network guy yesterday confirmed me above idea have work, didn't go details setup process. i'm open suggestions please let me know of alternative ideas may have.

a revolution has taking place in nas devices take many service place of traditional servers! should investigate in synology. try starting ds415+. in synology can use it's many apps use in business!

plus if decide go synology routers invest in camera surveillance in business.
