Ethernet cable question

i'm still using old hard-wired network @ home instead of wi-fi (for optimal speed/reliability/privacy), ethernet router connected cable modem , 50-foot stretch of cat6 (550mhz) going desktop computer (mini). since i've started using laptop @ home more frequently, i've been unplugging ethernet mini , plugging macbook air via belkin ethernet usb adaptor. unfortunately, plugging/unplugging , moving cable around has put tons of kinks , tangles in cable, in addition causing plastic lock tab on connector break off completely.

need replace ethernet cable, features should for? there brands/models less tangle-prone or have more robust connectors others?

also, if decide string second ethernet cable 4-port router (this trendnet model) dedicated laptop cable, make things easier , reduce wear , tear on cables/connectors -- notice reduction in performance while both computers connected? know nothing networking @ all....

ethernet cables pretty commodity long not buying no name knockoff ebay. use these amazon basics, or these monoprice.

2 cables , make use of hub rather unplug time. take speed hit if downloading on both devices simultaneously.
