Force phone to connect to Wi-Fi


hey, i've broke iphone 5 point of screen not working else fine. i'm getting replaced in couple of days , phone set daily icloud backups. last backup did 3 or 4 days ago , need backup or need way of getting photos off while locked.

don't think iphone connecting wi-fi because have restarted phone , maybe needs me enter passcode when first boots before connects wi-fi?

if on wi-fi can up... ideas?
 

if phone plugged in, locked, , connected wi-fi, should automatically.
