upgrade advice 2010 imac 11,2


hiya,

i've inherited imac 2010 21.5" (i5, 4gb, slooowww hdd).

considering whether bother upgrading it, or buy new desktop

if these upgrades works out @ £230 gbp or so;

4x4gb ram (about £80)
external firewire 800 hdd caddy (£40) (to boot os from)
samsung evo 850 500gb (£110)

upgrades give decent amount of life - don't video editing or games require intensive cpu usage think i5 enough. going via firewire caddy don't want faff of changing internal hdd , doesn't have usb 3.0.

appreciate advice....
 

yep... think worthwhile upgrade , give usable machine usage described.
