Prime lens


looking t "prime lens" @ later date nikon d7100. have 2 kit lenses (18 - 55 , 55 - 200). thinking maybe fast 50mm? use, or consider better prime lens size , speed, , why?
 

well, favourite sigma 30mm f/1.4 dc hsm - sharp excellent colour rendition, , suited me fine general use or portraits, depends on main use be.

nikon make , reasonably priced f/1.8 35mm , 50mm lenses, , exceptional older 50mm 1.4

there many other views on , best you.
