fifteen years after coma

hello. name sam lightner. turned thirty years old on october 6th of year. in october of 2000, managed fall coma 2 , half months, waking right around start of winter 2000. have been alive many years after coma alive before coma. honestly, don’t know why i’m still here today, , coma not reason that, here, i’m going talk it. book, (biography mine , families life when born until age of 16), ended me going grant high school in portland oregon in 2001. graduated grant class of 2004 @ age 18. goal upon returning in september 2001 not graduate class of 2004 walk on feet across stage walking me. after 3 years of physical therapist in halls of grant, walked across stage 1 of girls class of 2004. going through physical rehab , had whole year of work make managed earn regular degree in 3 years. after graduated, went pcc’s south east campus 2 years, taking half of credit-load. didn’t know headed dropped out @ age 20. managed stay away drinking in high school same year dropped out of pcc, discovered alcohol. (the 2 events weren’t related.) whatever reason, dug getting totally wasted , making ass of myself. got freaking ridiculous @ times too… drinking partly why said earlier coma not reason don’t know why i’m alive today. in april 2008, when 22, dad diagnosed terminal liver cancer. passed on june 2nd, 2008. hard on me , family. @ same time, we’d been watching him worse since mid-may. think bit of relief know he’s no longer suffering anymore. passing didn’t cause me drink anymore… i’d drinking already, not @ image wanted dad leave me, that’s way happened live burden. in 2010 decided take few more classes, time @ pcc’s cascade campus. worked out while in summer of 2011, dropped out because felt wandering aimlessly. wanted start receiving psychologist since dealing disabilities becoming more difficult in years past. started seeing psychologist in summer of 2011. move in wish have made earlier. decided moving out on own best option applied live in subsidized apartment complex disabled citizens out in gresham. waited on waiting list until july 2013 , on july 3rd moved in. in late july 2014, mental health had declined point had admitted mental ward of ohsu 8 days. questioning existence because 28 , didn’t know life going. sent home on psychoactive drugs had re-admitted hospital in october because still having questionable thoughts.that time there until mid-november. since i’ve been hanging out in apartment. still trying figure life out, not having questionable thoughts. i’m talking case manager , psychologist , looking can do. right now, since late july, i've been waking ever i’ve been past year. 1 thing want public speaking figured place start. drinking, slowed way down in 2012 , stopped in 2013. today though go bar , buy whisky. have smoked marijuana off , on, on, 8 years. (and oregon that's kinda cool.) anyway, find helps me relaxing , being happy. i’ve been told few people contributes anxiety , paranoia. i’m not going that’s wrong, don’t think that’s primary cause of anxiety or paranoia. think medical past has caused way more damage marijuana can or has or ever going to. , besides, it’s life, i’m 30 years old, don’t know how made far in life did, want smoke marijuana , enjoy myself. summing today, writing today let know still here and, said above, i’m doing best can have. writing because need different. i’m hoping sharing story me out of dark some. thank listening!
