Planning on purchasing a Macbook - is the processor bump needed?

hey guys, apologies if thread/question has been posted before,

i'm planning on picking rmb compliment macbook pro 13" retina (i use work). rmb used school/uni, , because of size , weight (i've played @ apple store , god thing light , compact).

question is, necessary spend $300 tier $1599 model 1.2ghz m processor?

use cases be: word processing, note taking, web browsing, youtube, netflix, etc. light , basic work. else such video editing use macbook pro retina for. however, keep amount of windows/tabs open , wondering if need 0.1ghz processor boost. these things can't test inside apple store since have baseline model outside on display.

don't need 256gb of storage, mean it'd nice have. guys' thoughts on this? can provide additional info needed.

if not need 256gb no imo

had 1.1 1st of , gave mrs , got 1.2 storage otherwise cannot see significant difference in normal day day use
