RAM problem (built 12 of 2007)

ok, i'm trying upgrade handful of imacs built in 2007 running 3gb can handle 4gb. achieved 4gb dumbing down equal number of 3gb machines.

none of upgraded machines boot, once replace 1gb ram back. doing wrong, or not thinking about?

2007 imacs (they should 7.1 in mac) can handle 6gb of ram. need install 1x2gb , 1x4gb dimm. owc makes kit , crucial can supply ram. wiser upgrade 4gb gives 50% more ram.

imacs sensitive quality ram , must correct specifications. chances ram trying cheap or of inferior quality. return , buy crucial or owc.
