Need Hard Drive advice when using Windows & Mac


i going order new 27 inch imac 512gb ssd. installing windows 10 on bootcamp.

new mac have few questions.

how space recommend allotting windows 10 partition? assume need allow enough space system, software, , files, correct? have 200mb on windows machine , anticipate needing amount when imac arrives.

plan on adding external drive @ point, evo 850 1tb. assume when external drive plugged in show additional 1tb drive under mac os x, correct? or can access through both operating systems? how guys recommend set windows , hard drives (512 ssd internal , 1tb external)? assume 1 obvious issue set on external drive slower set on internal ssd drive.

appreciate advice or suggestions. of actively use both operating systems on 1 mac how handle storage?

i have 150gig on windows partition , rest of 512 ssd on osx. after installing antivirus, updating programs, getting itunes on there, downloading steam, orgin, vlc, flash, java, winzip, little things 1 needs live, , installing 1 game, have 40 gigs left. need 15 gigs operating system alone.

external storage cheap, buy 1 harddrive windows stuff , 1 osx. windows , mac use different formatting , don't play nicely, if format drive fat32, you're going unhappy slow speeds. it'll make stuff readable both operating systems clunky overall.

oh , when in windows can't read harddrives through thunderbolt port plan on getting usb3.
