Facetime bug?


hi guys, got 2 new iphones parents christmas. bug i've discovered when iphones in standby , try call them via facetime not work, unless out of standby works. both have separate apple id accounts , have cellular data off on both because have no data plan there mobile op,

appears wifi must drop off when in standby? both of phones have latest ios update.. ideas or solutions appreciated

 

you're correct in assumption...here how found out..

work in i.t. , have client has guest wifi network enabled...when users connect it, must go webpage , agree terms , conditions before internet connectivity active.

when they'd leave phones sit 5 minutes , go unlock them, they'd notice have authenticate again...as if disconnected , reconnected...

found out wifi disable while phone locked..this "power saving" feature quite dumb in opinion. that's why if wake screen of iphone, you'll see "lte" @ top brief second before changes wifi icon.

so, believe happening in case, same thing..the phone doesn't have data connection (since cellular disabled), facetime won't work. when wake device, , phone reconnects wifi connection, works.

in hurry, didn't explain best, let me know if helps answer question.
