iCloud and Me accounts?


i'm new ios

under mail settings on iphone have @icloud.com email account , @me.com email.com

have no idea these for. these standard accounts when use ios? actual email accounts can send , receive email from?
 

they email accounts associated apple id/icloud (accounts can use email if wish).
