iCloud Drive a Google Drive replacement: auto folder syncing?


because trying stay in apple's ecosystem as possible, i'm getting around investigating icloud drive on mac substitute google drive use currently.

why use google drive: documents folder on mac accessible when i'm on iphone , ipad. (pretty way drop box works, believe)

question: there way have documents folder on mac automatically sync icloud drive, if i'm working on mac , create new document (that ends in documents folder), automatically uploaded icloud drive?

know has common/simple question, searches weren't able satisfactorily answered.

 

i'm not sure having documents folder sync icloud drive, did few years ago move entire contents of old documents folder icloud drive folder. changed default save location icloud drive. me, real difference name , pathway of parent folder. works fantastically , have easy access documents on iphone , ipad.

if want sync documents folder itself, though, may want check out app called macdropany. used use in dropbox days - save things in documents folder (instead of dropbox folder) , synced via symbolic links matching folders in dropbox. i'm not sure if works icloud, or how works these days, since haven't used couple years, might worth checking out.
