Photos across devices


photo stream used send photos taken iphone 6 or ipad air each other , macbook pro. had moved original iphoto library external drive, photos again being added laptop's hard drive (where don't want them). plus, separate photos library (which replaced iphoto on yosemite run laptop now).

how can photo stream (or whatever called now) put new photos onto external (when attached) join library?

i'd appreciate ideas. thanks.
