creative cloud update released adobe has been deleting mac users' files without warning, reports ars technica. 3.5.0.206 update, pulled adobe, deleted contents of first folder listed alphabetically in mac's root directory. files deleted after update installed , users logged adobe service.

bug has affected customers in different ways depending on content listed first in directory. many customers use backup service backblaze had problems service because hidden root folder called .bzvol file listed first , subsequently deleted. backblaze made video demonstrating issue:


ars technica points out, many mac users' first folder .documentrevisions-v100, used mac's autosave feature , can cause problems if deleted.
an adobe spokesperson said company investigating issue , has pulled distribution of update until problem fixed. creative cloud users should avoid updating until clear fix provided adobe, , layer of precaution, fake folder name place in top spot in root directory may users avoid issues.
