Mid-2012 Air as second laptop?


i bought mid-2012 macbook air in cosmetic condition @ work $419. 13" 2.0ghz 8gb 256gb ssd. going give mom feeling doesn't want learn new computer after retiring. don't need second laptop since have late 2013 15" retina pro. pro has creative cloud apps on im graphic designer. of 2 laptops, use lower end air model for? im trying justify in mind. lol there problems should on out particular model - 5,2? (apparently says service battery there that.)
 

over summer bought second laptop (13" 2010 mba) work laptop old , heavy non-retina 2012 15" mbp , didn't want haul around much. carry mba time me in messenger bag , use email, browsing, excel, word , other work related things. @ home keep 15" laptop if need bigger screen or more power.

spending $420 of course lot of money on maybe don't need, in case shoulder , appreciate not carrying couple pounds when bike or travel. me worth buying mba , having second laptop.
