Mini Displayport broke on me


i've been using macbookair 11inch (2011) school exclusively, pretty mild use on years (i use desktop @ home).

last week no longer connect external benq display use when need more display width. same on book camp. visited apple store now, same on displays. told me i'd need new motherboard, cost on €500

idea if there quick dirty fix? i've never heard of someone's displayport stop working honestly. bad luck.
 

you can clean contacts 99% proof isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol , cotton swab on stick. if doesn't work solder inside might cracked. did trip on cable?
