How do you stop iPhone from changing iPad Wi-Fi network?


hi, having problem need with. have wi-fi modem in living room covers 1 side of house , have wi-fi extender in family room covers other side of 1 because signal weak if in family room , hooked main modem. problem if using ipad in living room , hooked "main" modem , take iphone in family room , hooked "extender" ipad switches , hooked "extender". how stop iphone changing ipad wi-fi network when move iphone , hook different wi-fi network.
