Mac Pro 1.1 Upgrade


hello,

in struggle use os x yosemite (and, hopefully, el capitan) on mac pro 1.1 came across this thread - however, have few follow-up questions.

1. need buy apple branded ati radeon hd 5770? or can use ordinary, non-apple video card?
2. says mac-flashed video cards - what's process of flashing video card?

tried use newer, stock video card (i believe ati radeon hd 9800 series), screen remained black days.
 

unflashed video cards won't give boot screens work in os x long drivers present. 'flashing' means replacing stock vbios mac-efi-compatible one, tutorials gpus available here , @ netkas.org

'hd 9800' doesn't exist btw :p
