apple pay launched in united kingdom in july @ more 250,000 locations across england, scotland, wales , northern ireland, barclays remains notably absent group of banks supporting mobile payments service.

nevertheless, barclays remains committed supporting apple pay in future. barclays ceo of personal , corporate banking ashok vaswani today told customer mike jobson by email bank plans roll out apple pay in 2016.
a high-level executive @ barclays stated bank anticipated "imminent" support of apple pay, , bank later publicly confirmed support apple pay in "future," no specific launch timeframe had been provided.
