Booking off USB with Power Mac G4 Graphite (500Mhz AGP)


having copy of os 9 on cd, have put on either usb dvd drive or flash drive due problems internal dvd.


possible boot operating system either usb dvd drive or flash drive?

it can caveat. whilst "usb mass storage" standard if not usb drives adhere to, agp g4's firmware supports chipsets usb booting. it's 'hit-and-miss' , failure.

also, booting built-in usb ports exremely slow, since it's usb1.1.

better off try pata/ide optical drive or firewire enclosure.
