Cutting the Cable Cord - Question on Atenna's


i've had apple tv years , split time between cable , atv. getting ready let cable go upgrade new atv , thinking going buy digital antenna local programming. news , sports pretty much. guess i'll live without espn. hoping mount digital antenna right in cabinet houses entertainment gear. keep reading need mount antenna on window won't work in situation.

wondering if of have advice this. antenna part.

true story. boss bought us$80 amplified antenna ota (over air) digital tv. had done little research , told him coat hanger. did blind test didn't tell him had connected tv... , couldn't tell difference.

there's information available try , summarize here other use cheapest antenna can stand buy , try want first. if in strong signal area might work in cabinet. if not, of tv. if not... idea. move around till find place works. it's not more complicated that. digital work or not. keep in mind weather has great effect on digital ota reception, leaves. don't surprised if experience changes weather , season. strong signal overcome limitations.
