OnTouch 4 compatible with OSx 10.8?


i have maxtor onetouch 4 have been using in past pc (since 2010) no longer need pc reformat work osx 10.8 can backup imac ready install osx el capitan 10.11. question is: onetouch 4 old reformatted work imac purpose of creating duplicate backup ensure no problems happen during upgrade?
