Questions about updating memory and hard drive after 4 years.

hi all, i've owned 27" imac mid-2011 since new , on past year have noticed it's beginning slow down. hdd gradually filling on time i've begun hear "crunching"(best word describe it) sound coming hdd. i've been considering while, have decided upgrade ssd alongside existing 1tb hdd. have decided upgrade existing 4gb of memory 8gb due concerns of possible bottlenecking. plan on using parts owc. have few questions regarding these upgrades.
  1. will adding ssd system have negative effect on life of machine or on system performance? not have evidence make credible fear, checking coudn't hurt.
  2. once done installing new parts, need restore backup on time machine?
  3. i have bootcamp partition window's 7 , other data installed on 1tb hdd. adding ssd require me repartition hdd bootcamp, requiring me reinstall programs on windows side of machine?
  4. how go installing os x on ssd , using 1tb hdd "deep storage" things old documents, videos, photos, etc? i.e. can choose files save ssd , files save hdd? also: bootcamp partition load os(windows) ssd , save data hdd?
  5. if possible load os x ssd, can rest of files/programs restored onto hdd , sorted between 2 drives later?
  6. would 120gb ssd enough, considering want load os x , windows drive while still having space some files, or should opt 240gb option owc?
  7. can add 2 2gb sticks of memory system total of 8gb, or should purchase 2 4gb sticks instead?
  8. is owc company use parts regarding price, quality, warranty, etc? there better options?

i've attached screenshots of "about mac" window machine. can see "storage" section, have bootcamp partition of 150gb windows 7 , few programs use school located. use time machine machine.

have included screenshot of items plan on purchasing owc. also, sorry if in wrong section, first post. :)

wow, that's handful of first post!

first, lot of questions can answered doing google searching on internet. did ssd surgery on 2010 imac 3 years ago , found answers pretty quickly. i'll answer of yours below, in bold:

  1. will adding ssd system have negative effect on life of machine or on system performance? not have evidence make credible fear, checking coudn't hurt. no, in fact, argue ssd lifespan because it'll run cooler hd.
  2. once done installing new parts, need restore backup on time machine? you can go route. preferred method use carboncopycloner large external drive. if use this, should carry on including partitions windows.
  3. i have bootcamp partition window's 7 , other data installed on 1tb hdd. adding ssd require me repartition hdd bootcamp, requiring me reinstall programs on windows side of machine? use carboncopycloner.
  4. how go installing os x on ssd , using 1tb hdd "deep storage" things old documents, videos, photos, etc? i.e. can choose files save ssd , files save hdd? also: bootcamp partition load os(windows) ssd , save data hdd? if remember right, ccc let choose want save files when go clone external onto ssd. can put os , apps onto ssd, , data onto hd. way, looking make fusion drive, or run distinct internal drives?
  5. if possible load os x ssd, can rest of files/programs restored onto hdd , sorted between 2 drives later? sure.
  6. would 120gb ssd enough, considering want load os x , windows drive while still having space some files, or should opt 240gb option owc? depends. have 120gb ssd in imac, , holds except music. suggest putting media data (music, photos, , movies) on hd, , keep os x, apps, , other data (like docs, pdfs, etc.) on ssd.
  7. can add 2 2gb sticks of memory system total of 8gb, or should purchase 2 4gb sticks instead? yes. when got imac (used, in 2012), found guy on craigslist sold apple ram. bought 2x2gb sticks $20 him. works champ.
  8. is owc company use parts regarding price, quality, warranty, etc? there better options? quality , warranty best in business, pay it. you'll better prices if shop around, may not of warranty or quality. shop newegg kind of stuff.
good luck!
