2009 Macbook Pro keeps "losing" internal speakers


hi
2009 macbook pro regularly "loses" own internal speakers , output sound through cable (and headphones), or via bluetooth. internal speaker not cut in or out when available , there no audible fault. when unavailable, if go system preferences > sound > output, internal speakers not listed option. have tried removing audio cable, disabling bluetooth , rebooting no luck.
suggestions can working consistently again?
