Apple's Podcast app... sloooooow!?


hi,

i've noticed quite time apple's podcast app frustratingly slow. slowest app i've ever come across...
in old days (when pdocasts still part of music app), updating podcast super-easy , reasonably fast. nowerdays.... boy!
swipe down update podcast: wait minute happen. downloading: few minutes, on fast wifi connection. mean: really, apple?

i'm wondering: iphone 4 (ios 7)? or problem persist on never phones , newer ios?

alternatives? apps out there sync podcasts itunes podcasts?
 

previously on 6 plus , on 6s plus, have noticed occasion slowness after testing seems it's due more signal/connection in areas more app itself.

i'm thinking might have more fact that, i've heard, ios 7 slowed iphone 4 down quite bit , though simple podcast app, somehow affecting speed , ability of app update serves.

i've heard things overcast, didn't use has issues syncing premium podcasts , don't have problem stock apple podcast app. other podcast app i've heard things pocket casts, know less one. overcast free maybe can give try , see if it's better, whereas pocket casts paid app $3.99.
