Apple HW Test error code -3403d

hi,

i'm trying run apple hardware test on mid 2010 21.5" imac running osx mavericks imac running suspect hdd failure imminent.. upon pressing (option + d) on start-up i'm greated image of globe trying connect , download. being displayed error code -3403d. have searched forums error , no 1 has gotten reply, thought i'd start new thread , top of list. have made sure connected network, using ethernet cable this. can boot recovery mode (command + option + r). have tried running first aid on both hdd , partition macos installed on.

appreciated.

 

i think error code means aht can't located. need run aht 10.6 applications install disc 2 came imac.

using apple hardware test on computers os x v10.7 , earlier:
1. start aht on these computers make sure applications install disc 2 inserted built-in optical drive

2. shut down computer. then, press power button turn on.

3. press , hold d key before gray startup screen appears.

4. takes minute or aht start , inspect hardware configuration.

5. when process complete, select language , click right arrow. if aren't using mouse, can use , down arrows select language , press return key.

6. aht console appears. can choose sort of test or tests perform:
perform of basic tests, click test button or press "t" key or return key.
perform more thorough diagnostic test, select "perform extended testing" checkbox under test button before click test button.
note: test results appear in window in bottom-right of console.

7. exit aht, click restart or shut down @ bottom of window.
