Expert help needed: Installing windows via Bootcamp (

hello,

'd install windows on macbook pro 5,1 (late 2008 unibody 15') running 10.8.5. have latest version of bootcamp.

here i've tried:

**1) using boot camp assistant install windows xp/7/8**

* genuine windows 7 iso - have run usb boot drive, optical drive broken
* genuine windows xp oem install iso
* genuine windows 8 iso

* 3 options selected on first bca menu - install windows 7 on drive, download , installl latest driver updates, , create partition

* partition successfuly created, drivers downloaded
* computer restarts begin windows installation boot drive

**point of failure** upon restart, mac logo flashes , **screen turns black**. suspected failure of nvidia drivers, brightness control turned way down (i cannot use keyboard adjust brightness)

**solutions tried:**

1. reboot holding option key choose startup disk - usb drive doesn't show up
2. reboot holding down c key boot drive - screen turns black
3. install [refit](http://refit.sourceforge.net/) fork (not linked here on page hyperlinked) select usb drive boot - still goes black screen


**2) using virtual installation of windows via vmware fusion 7 partition**

* got here:

* output reads efi instead of bios under type, including fat32 partition
* try create raw disk description , says "cannot copy source files" destination. files not created.

**solutions tried:**

1. sudo host allow write - no result
2. use fdisk make fat32 partition active - no result

**3) using virtual installation of windows via parallels desktop 10 partition**

* windows 7/8 install gives result: error code “0x80070057” , message “windows not format partition on disk 0”
* windows xp installs , functional on parallels, files installed partition **will not boot natively**

**solutions tried:**

1. multiple reformats of partition in fat32 format (cannot format ntfs through osx disk utility - cannot install windows 7 or 8

**continuing on windodws xp through parallels**

2. tried ot install bootcamp drivers windows xp on macbook pro 5,1 on windows xp, failed
3. tried install nvidia drivers graphics card through windows xp, failed again because using parallels drivers , cannot detect actual hardware

i'm @ loss @ point. i've committed close 16 horus , still haven't come close solving issue. guides online either diverge software versions or results. standard apple response black screen before windows install steps outlined in #1.

can offer suggestions please?
