Unwanted folders popping up in Mac Mail


i've become inundated folders in mac mail accounts, 1 gmail , 1 mac mail. each system upgrade more folders. have junk, trash, deleted messages, recovered messages, sent, sent messages , multiples of each. where/why these popping , how can rid of them? deleting folders doesn't work.

i'm using os x el capitan 10.11.2
 

it's difficult diagnose problem without knowing more particular setup. these problems happen imap accounts web hosting companies. gmail stable, apple's icloud mail—so situation odd.

try deleting folders web interface of gmail , icloud. open mail app , use mailbox>rebuild function.

if fails solve problem, suggest remove accounts mail preferences. quit app. relaunch mail , input account info scratch.

Help please Strange logs
