new iMac help??

if afford 1 of following imac 21.5 2015 options be? pretty close in final price.

21.5 2.8ghz i5 added 256g ssd (add external drive later on) or
21.5 2.8ghz i5 added 2tb fusion drive or
21.5 3.1ghz i5 retina display 1td hdd.

ram 8 16 well, or hybrid of 2 of above options if had push budget, not sure if need to??

it's upgrade old 2010 macbook has done me well, it's home use, web browsing, home video editing, microsoft office, emails, lite gaming, itunes , home media use. want try future prof as can, if 5-7 years out of it.

you ask get. would, , did, i5 retina display when realized non-retina version had same graphics decade-old 5,1 imac. got 256 gb ssd in part because quiet. annoyed whirr of hd in old computer because felt wearing out. in fact, ran life of computer , still works fine, annoyed me.

use (email, internet, journaling, calendar, trip planning, chess & solitaire, etc.) i7 overkill, 16 gb ram. , if need expand storage, external hd or ssd cheaper getting 500 gb ssd apple.

reports fusion drive works great , super-fast, control freak, , don't idea machine deciding goes on flash , goes on spinner. external drives cheap, if want expand memory spinner, though more go external ssd. in fact, got 1 tb external ssd backup.

caveat above can afford this. if pressed money, might have stuck straight hd, cheaper , bigger ssd.

first couple of days extremely exasperating, tried working. apple phone support excellent, , i'm quite happy computer now.

can decide whether need added storage of 2 tb drive or whether non-retina display adequate you.
